In less than a single lifetime, North America has lost more than one in four of its birds, according to a report in the world’s leading scientific journal. Published in Science by researchers at seven institutions, the findings show that 2.9 billion breeding birds have been lost since 1970, including birds in every ecosystem.

The Maryland Bird Conservation Partnership (MBCP) is a coalition of organizations who have the collective expertise and experience to stabilize declining bird populations through conservation, research, community science, and community engagement. Our focus is protecting and restoring the habitats of and reducing threats to the 143 Species of Greatest Conservation Need in Maryland’s State Wildlife Action Plan.

Our partnership is giving birds one united voice in Maryland.

The Maryland Bird Conservation Partnership seeks to connect birds, habitats, and people throughout Maryland. Join MBCP and other Marylanders working together to conserve birds and the habitats that support them.
