The Maryland Bird Conservation Partnership is proud to promote citizen science monitoring programs throughout the state that benefit any and all bird species.  It's that time of year again - Maryland DNR's ANNUAL SUMMER WILD TURKEY SURVEY.

PDF summary of the 2018 survey results.

If you have helped in the past, thank you and please continue to send in those observations. If you haven’t participated previously, please consider helping this year.  This is a very important population monitoring tool, but it's accuracy and value depend on how much participation we get. With declining turkey numbers in some areas and poor nesting weather this spring, your assistance is more important than ever.

The survey is very simple.  Just record any Wild Turkeys you see during the months of JULY and AUGUST.  You can use the the survey form in either WORD or PDF formats (download the forms below).  Then email, fax, or mail the completed forms to Bob Long/Maryland DNR by September 10.  And if that's too much trouble for you, you can email or text any sightings.  Remember to include the date and county.  Honestly we really don't care how we get it...just send us your turkey observations!  Bob will send a summary of the results to everyone who submits data.

There is also a 1-page guide with some tips to help identify turkeys in the summer months.  Remember to record ALL turkeys you see, not just broods

Please email, mail, or fax your forms by September 10 to:
