Discover the Heart of Maryland 2026 is a celebration of the Heart of Maryland — the South Mountain landscape of Washington and Frederick counties. The event is hosted by the Heart of Maryland Collaborative—a network of 30+ organizations working together to preserve farmland and restore the woods and waters of these two counties.

Landowners are especially encouraged to attend to connect directly with conservation professionals, learn about funding and technical assistance, and explore potential projects for their property. Enjoy live music, food, and scenic views, and connect with others who share a commitment to protecting our natural resources.

Maryland Bird Conservation Partnership and other organizations will be tabling throughout the event, offering opportunities for one-on-one conversations in a relaxed, welcoming setting.
